Time-lapse videos: Display actual time

(1)  When viewing time-lapse videos sometimes you want to see the real time offset of each taken picture (in minutes, hours, days). This tutorial shows you how. For a start, click Add Video Filter - Overlay - Text Overlay.

(2)  Click on Insert Macro and choose either Days, Hours, Minutes, Seconds (if your took pictures every few seconds) or Days, Hours, Minutes (for intervals longer than 1 minute). This will insert a {DHMS} or {DHM} macro that is replaced with frame time during preview.

(3)  Enter the interval used to take pictures. If the interval was 45 minutes per picture then enter 00:45:00 (hour:min:sec). This value is related to frame rate, so if you later change the input or output frame rate, you may need to come back to this dialog and update the time scale.

(4)  To change the position of text just click anywhere inside the preview picture. We changed the text alignment and color to match the background better. Click OK when you're finished.
