Edit a gameplay video

(1)  Open the captured videos

Click the Open Files button.

(2)  Select one or more files

Navigate to the folder where your videos are. To select multiple files use Shift + Mouse or Ctrl + Mouse click. Finally, click the Open button.

(3)  Add the Resize function from the menu

Click Video Effects => Adjust Size => Resize to add the Resize function.
We'll change video resolution to one of the standard YouTube sizes.

(4)  Change video resolution

Enter new width and height. After changing Width to 640 pixels, the Height should automatically change to 360. Click OK to close the dialog.

If it happens that entering 640 changes the height to a different value than 360, that means original video proportions weren't 16:9. In that case uncheck Use fixed aspect ratio of so you can enter any width and height. See below how we added Crop to adjust original video to 16:9 before resizing.

(5)  Size changed

The picture is now resized to 640x360.

You may also notice the Crop filter, which wasn't mentioned before. That's because you won't need cropping if you own a 16:9 monitor. Your videos will already be captured in one of the 16:9 resolutions.

We used a 16:10 widescreen monitor, which has more vertical lines than a 16:9 monitor. Using Crop we reduced it to 16:9 proportions. Crop has to be applied before Resize.

(6)  Add a custom logo

Click Video Effects => Overlay => Video Overlay. We'll add a logo we previously created in a paint program.

(7)  Choose the logo file

In the Video Overlay dialog click the Choose File button to open a picture.

(8)  Open the picture

Pick the file you want to insert. Our was saved as 32-bit PNG because it contains transparent and semi-transparent parts. JPG does not support transparency.

(9)  Position the logo

Click inside the preview panel to place the logo. Click OK to close the dialog.

(10)  Logo added

You should now see the logo in the second preview panel.

(11)  Add some text

We'll add a few comments to the video. Click Video Effects => Overlay => Text Overlay.

(12)  Enter and position the text

Optionally choose font style and size, then enter the text in the edit box. To position text click inside the preview panel, or enter coordinates manually. Click OK to close the dialog.

(13)  Text timing - Move to the first picture

In the main window move the preview slider to the first picture where you want the text to appear. You can use the mouse or keyboard arrows.

(14)  Text timing - Set in point

To make text appear from this picture, right-click on the Text function you just added, then choose Set In Point. You can do this with other filters and functions as well.

(15)  Text timing - Move to the last picture

Move the slider to the last picture (after which the text should disappear). You can use the mouse or keyboard arrows.

(16)  Text timing - Set out point

To make the text end on this picture, right-click the Text function again and choose Set Out Point.

(17)  Text added

We have added a comment, positioned it and adjusted its timing. To add more comments, add a Text Overlay for each of them, as seen on the picture below.

(18)  Export the final video

Click the floppy disk button (or File => Save As).

(19)  Export the final video

Enter the output file name, click Start and wait until VideoMach produces the output file.

(20)  Upload it to the internet

Upload the final video to one or more video hosting web sites:
