Output Files
Output mode - Chooses what is saved to the output file(s). Possible options are:
- Video and audio to a single file - The usual output.
Both video and audio are written to the same file.
You must specify just one output file.
- Video and audio to separate files - Audio is saved to one file, video to another.
You must specify both output file names.
- Video only - Writes just video. Specify the video
file.
- Audio only - Writes just audio. Specify the audio
file.
Split output file if larger than - Limits the maximum
output file size. If a file is larger than the limit, it is
automatically cut into smaller segments. This is useful for backing
up a large file to a set of CD / DVD / Blu-Ray disks. Standard AVI files have a limitation of 2 GB, so this value is
automatically set to 2 GB for AVI files.
Video File - Full path and name of the output video file. Type it in or use the Pick
button to choose an existing one.
Audio File - Full path and name of the output audio file, but only if the audio goes to
a separate file.
Load Preset - This is a quick way to set the output video and audio codecs, sizes, formats
and other parameters in just two clicks. If the button is disabled that means you don't have any
presets saved.
Organize Presets - Opens a submenu with the following options:
- Save Preset - Creates a new preset that contains currently used output settings.
This includes the output mode, file formats, video and audio codecs, picture size, etc.
Use this command only after you already set all desired output
settings. Next time you need those settings load them using the Load Preset button.
- Rename - Change the name of an already saved preset.
- Delete - Delete a preset.
- Export - Save all presets to a backup file.
- Import - Imports presets from a backup file. WARNING: Imported presets will overwrite any equally named
existing presets.
File Comments - Insert author and copyright data into the
output AVI or WMV file. The comments may be viewed in VideoMach,
Windows Explorer and other applications that
support it. NOTE: Under Windows 7 you can see all the comments, but
Explorer from Windows XP doesn't know how to display the comments,
at least not all of them.
