Open Media Files - Opens video and audio files. They will be added to the end of the list. [more details]

Open Recent File - Lists recently open files so you can pick the one to open.

Insert Media Files - Same as "Open" but the new files are inserted above the currently highlighted position in the list (video and/or audio). You should previously highlight the position in both lists where you wish the new files to be inserted.


Add Entire Folder - Opens all files in the selected folder. [more details]

Add Recent Folder - Lists folders recently open with Add Entire Folder


Insert Silence Above - Inserts a desired number of seconds of silence to the audio list, above the current position.

Insert Silence Below - Inserts a desired number of seconds of silence to the audio list, below the current position.


Save As - Opens the "Save As" dialog where you can choose the output file name, video and audio format and save the output file. [more details]

Start Saving - Begin writing to the output file. It is assumed that you already opened and closed the Output Settings dialog before this.

Show Output Files Info - Displays information about the last saved file(s).


Save Input Screenshot - Opens a dialog to save the currently previewed input image (left-hand preview panel).

Save Output Screenshot - Opens a dialog to save the currently previewed output image (right-hand preview panel).


File Information - Displays a window containing file information for all selected files. [more details]

Current Frame Info - Displays the file name and in-file position of the currently displayed picture (frame). For image sequences this shows the real image name (regardless of the containing sequence). For video files it shows the frame position inside the current file, regardless of other files in the project.

Change Display Unit (status bar) - VideoMach shows position and length information for audio/video in the status bar at the bottom of the main window. Information is displayed either in time units or in pictures/samples. Use this command to switch between time and frames/samples.


Play - Plays the currently selected file in the video or audio list using the default player. To change the default player for a particular file type use the Default Players dialog.

Play With:

[List of user-defined applications] - Last used non-default applications for opening/playing files.


Internal Player - Opens the selected file in the VideoMach Internal Player. The Internal Player uses any changes in the input frame rate (set in Input Settings) when playing the selected file, as opposed to external players which always play it at the original frame rate. Internal Player can play image sequences and HAV files.

Default System Player - Play the file using default system player.


Another Application - Adds any application to the list of custom applications.

Edit List - Opens a window where you can edit the list of user-defined players.


Exit - Closes VideoMach.
